This was my 1st time attending this event. My cousin made arrangements back in March to attend solo & since I still hadn't taken a vacation, I decided at the last minute to tag along.
We arrived the evening before in an effort to avoid the mass of arrivals. My direct flight on Southwest was smooth sailing, but my cousin had an issue with Airtran & has vowed to never fly them again. She was due to arrive in FL at 10:40 pm but didn't touch down until damn near 1:00 am. Apparently there were about 10 people from her flight on the same connection & Airtran didn't bother to call & hold the flight for them. They were put on standby & couldn't even get the next flight because it was booked solid. Needless to say she was pissed.
Anywho, the next day was registration & it was a mad house. People - young, old, big & small were everywhere. Recession my ass! This event was sold out!
