It's an absolutely gorgeous day in St. Louis!!! No excuses, no exceptions!
Although, I have an advantage (I can see my polling place from my bedroom window), come hell or high water, I was going to the polls.
All I had was my voter registration card (actually had two - the original and the replacement they automatically issued after the last botched elections) & my driver's license. Miss Daisy & Mr. Rufus (don't play, ya'll know you gotta be Medicare eligible to work the polls...) didn't give me any trouble at all about 2 pieces of ID & such.
2 pieces of ID?? really????
ReplyDeleteLol that was my daddy's name...lol
ReplyDeleteThe last botched election folks were complaining that workers were requesting 2 pieces of ID, but I bet it was because they didn't have their registration cards or the reminder cards. Black folks have got to do better.
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! You know almost typed Miss Dorothy & then changed it!! Yo mama & daddy are gonna get me. :)
ReplyDeleteOHHHHHH, yeah, we are quick to blame folks when it is out fuck up! lmao
ReplyDeleteIt went smooth as silk for me!
ReplyDeleteDid you vote to re-elect me to office of General All Purpose Liaison of the Upper Room Clerks Office?
ReplyDeleteNope! I had a picket sign that read: "Down with Gigi!"
ReplyDelete*lol*
I voted early...it went smoothly and easily!
ReplyDeleteAnd to think I was gonna give you a free pass to the Upper Room in about 45 more years... but forget it.. now you gone have to work for it... and that means being nice to folks... I wonder how you gone do..
ReplyDeleteAnd remember... your Upper Room pass gone be revoked if you found fornicating without a band around your finger... Im just saying...
lmao
Resisting the urge to hate. I was at my polling area(right next door as well) 30 minutes before the polls opened and I was still in line for 3 hours lol
ReplyDeleteI took off today (school's were also closed) so I was able to watch & wait. The line was wrapped around the corner BEFORE 6 am.
ReplyDeleteWe arent required to have our registration card when we go and vote, and also are not required to show ID either. I think if there was an issue you would have to. All you need to do is give your name, DOB, and address and you are rockin and rollin.
ReplyDeletePines said she was in line all of about 3 minutes and was in and out.... I did an absentee ballott cause I wasnt trying to either be standing in line with a new baby or possibly in the hospital from having the baby OR standing there in all my HUGE pregnant glory.
ReplyDeleteThey never ask for my voter registration card! Just my license. And they have signs posted that you only need one form of ID. Interesting....
ReplyDeleteIvoted. Two hour wait but so worth it! I felt like shouting afterwards!!!!
Did it weeks ago....congratulations Moni.
ReplyDeleteI took off work today for two occassions........it's election day (I put my vote in early) and it's my daughter's 17th birthday today!!! It's a good day for President Obama!!!
ReplyDeletei have an hour for lunch so i stopped by our local ymca and voted. once i filled out my paper, i slipped it into the machinge and BAM....... i was number 600 and 30 something.
ReplyDeleteI took my 11 year old nephew with me to the polls & let him "vote" electronically with me. He was soooo excited! I told him this would be a day for him to tell his grand-kids (in the very far distant future of course).
