School Bus Fight - Racially motivated or not?

This happened in Belleville, IL (a stone's throw from STL) yesterday.  It's been on the news & is being discussed on many radio shows.

What punishment should the aggressors receive?

What punishment, if any, should the driver receive?

Should anything be said/done to the on-lookers, photo & video takers?

Let's talk about it!

  1. I believe their asses should be punished, it seems that the bus is equipped with cameras and thats how the attack was captured. I'm wondering why the bus driver didn't do anything. Was he/she afraid for their safety? That really sucks, people aren't training their children anymore.

  2. They should definitely be punished. Perhaps suspension? I don't know? The video was most likely taken from the bus cam, many buses are installed with them now. The video clip was kind of short, wonder if the driver stopped, etc.? Were they the ones who called the police? I mean they may have actually done something even if the clip doesn't show it, but if they didn't, yeah, I think they should receive some kind of punishment, but the bulk of punishment needs to go to the aggressors. For the onlookers, perhaps the school should do some classes or assemblies on what to do in a situation like that. I bet those kids were stunned and just didn't know what to do and could they really have done anything without becoming the next victim?

  3. I can't seem to watch the video due to my pc's settings.

But based on my own bus riding experience and having been involved in fights on said buses, it such a dangerous place for kids. The drivers are not in a place to stop the vehicle without putting the whole bus in jeopardy. Sadly, most schools buses don't have adult aides or assistants to help keep the kids in line either, save a few older kids who serve as monitors. That's why I'm glad my own are not on buses anymore. My boys used to ride in the afternoons to an off-site afterschool program and my oldest would get picked on. I'm telling you the schools need more money to enlist some bus aides!

  4. The clip that was shown on the news showed the white kid trying to find a seat & bypassing the seat he ended up in. It appeared it was the only place for him to sit & the black kid had a backpack there & refused to move it. I know the driver's aren't supposed to take off until all are seated. Once the bus took off the white kid took the seat, NOT looking for the trouble he found. He was obviously the outcast on this bus & paid for it.

Many people have asked about the driver but I haven't seen any reports from him/her. However, these lil bastards are dangerous these days & drivers aren't armed guards. They barely respect their caregivers & authority figures. A bus driver ain't ish to them.

Unfortunately, this is a perfect of examples of black kids gone wild.

Most people, black & white are agreeing this was race related, with most blacks saying had the roles been reversed, Al Sharpton would've been flying into our airport this morning. Hard to believe some are making excuses for these hooligans.

  6. This shows how some parents are not disciplining their children. Yes the attackers should be punished. In fact I say ban their butts from the bus!!! That was uncalled for. Totally uncalled for.

  8. OK! I would've taken my chances with Juvenile Detention Services vs my mama, grandma & gramps.
