After meeting up with & hanging out with some of the most awesomest people in the country Labor Day weekend, in what was dubbed "The DC Invasion" by none other than our very own STO (that's Ess-Tee-Oh), it got me wondering - what if we (whomever we might be) decided to invade your town?
What makes your town invadable? What is there for the adventurous, thrill-seeking, shopaholic, alcoholic, sneaky/freaky, laid-back, vanilla and even bible-toting folks to do in your town?
St. Louis is full of culture & stuff to do including many great restaurants, nightclubs & casinos. A lot of stuff I have never done (like tour the Meramec Caverns) & a lot I haven't done since my childhood (like going to the top of The Gateway Arch).
Now we don't have anything that caters to adult activites like Club Tabu...or at least to my knowledge we don't. We ain't that progressive just yet. *LOL* However, if you feel the need to toss some dollars at the strippers, it's a short trip to the State of Illinois - a stones throw across the Mighty Mississippi river.
I heard the IL side has a Tabu-like club
ReplyDeleteHey Mo-
ReplyDeleteRochester and the surrounding area has lots to do. We are an hour from Niagara Falls, where there are Casinos, the Falls, and lots of other things to do. We have a great outlet mall. I live in what is called the Finger Lakes region, which is beautiful and beachy, with boat cruises and really nice parks. I am not to sure about skrippers, but I am sure we have a few. :)
Well, I think everyone else knows more about my new town than I do. But I could show y'all around Jackson, MS with my eyes closed. I'd take y'all to club SeVen for neo soul/hip-hop/spoken word, a few soul food/barbecue spots, Fitzgerald's lounge for jazz and cocktails....um ok that's about it. Now I remember why I left. LOL
ReplyDeleteI was about to say.... There's swing establishments everywhere there's freaks!! LMAO
ReplyDeleteSee, that right there screams 'freaky-sneaky'. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThere's simply too much to do in Chicago, which is why I'm usually indoors with a new DVD and some popcorn! No pressure there..LOL
ReplyDeleteSpringfield is the place for history buffs. Home of Lincoln's New Salem, Lincoln's Home, Lincoln's Tomb, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library, the Illinois State Fair, The Dana-Thomas Home built by Frank Lloyd Wright, the Governor's Mansion, Several sites for Rt. 66 fans and a drive-in.
ReplyDeleteWe've got tons of restaurants and diners (one of which Guy Fieri featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives). I can't even tell you about the nightlife. My nightlife is usually in the bed, on the phone.
We're located just 1 1/2 hours from St. Louis, 4 hours from Chicago, 3 hours from Indianapolis.
You "heard' huh? *whisperin' she's probably da #1 patron.
ReplyDeleteActually I heard this info from one of those St. Louis people in the group so NAH!!
ReplyDeleteLOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Shhhhh don't tell anyone !
ReplyDeleteIs this code for phone sex? Are you an operator lol
ReplyDeleteshit why don't they just call it Lincoln, IL.....is there a Lincoln House of Pancakes too? *i'm jusss askin*
ReplyDeleteBecause Lincoln, IL is 30 minutes away...*sticks tongue out*
ReplyDeleteDang, can I get a hello first? Pfft
ReplyDeleteI apologize. But you know me, I like to get clarification on stuff lol
ReplyDeleteYes, I know...and no it's not code for phone sex. I am not an operator. *hoping Rob doesn't find his way over here*
ReplyDeleteBirmingham has a lot of civil rights history, great chicken places, plenty places of worship and lots of places to shop. I don't club, but I know where they are at, and we do have some swinger functions, but they are bit undercover, so I couldn't help you there directly, but I could look up the info and give it to whomever needed it. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm sure. I know we have the undercover type deals (some of my best friends are/were swingers *lol*), but I would bet my next check we don't have anything remotely close to Tabu in St. Louis.
