HR Quote of the Day

"As long as they stay stupid, I work another day."

~Me~

It's open enrollment time (any fellow benefits administrators know this is hell on earth) & no matter how many graphs, charts, outlines, face to face meetings, etc., I provide, most of these folks just don't get it...and in this day & age, I'm glad of it!

  1. I finally got on the ball and signed up for the flex spending plan. Yay me, new glasses/contacts and some more dental work.

  2. Can you explain to me again what flexible spending is? *giggle*

  3. Shoo, I flexed $3000 this year and then later was afraid I wouldn't be able to meet it. I have $275 left and our year ends in March '09.

  4. Head on over to Walgreens or Target! Their receipts tell you what'e eligible.

  5. My point on this is that I ONLY have $275 to go and I still have almost 3 months. My meds will take care of this, 2 combined is $110 a month AFTER insurance!

  6. Gotcha! We just increased our max to $4000 and quite a few people jumped on that one.

  7. I used to max out on the child care portion... that was nice.

I only did $500 for next year cause I'm not sure I'll make it either... but I figure two pair of glasses/a year's worth of contacts, two cleanings next year and a filling replacement ought to be about $500

  8. That's why our IT guy said too when he heard me say that! HAHAHA

  9. This is my 2nd year doing the Medical FSA. First time, I wasn't sure so I only did $300. This year, I did $500. I am not sure what I will do next year, but I know I will raise it again. It definitely comes in handy and I am thankful for it.

  10. Single me, no dependents or regular meds, I do straight insurance. Coventry is great. I just had surgery and I should not have to pay anything on it. Thank God forinsurance. I only work for the insurance. but I understand Mo. Open enrollment is a crazy time. Non-computer literate people like me have a hard time.
