Yeah, my nosey tail is back, all up in ya business.  The beauty of this one is, you can remain anonymous, if you so desire.  Please feel free to comment also.

I'm sure we're all well aware of the choices we have & I'm just curious as to why you make/made the choice(s) you do/did.

Abstinence - The only 100% fool-proof method of birth control!

The Pill - has been around for a long time & the newer ones even help with acne problems.

The Patch - I hear a lot of women prefer this over the pill.

Depo-Provera - Weight gain horror stories, but at my age, I'd rather be fat than prego!

IUD - do they still use these?

Condoms - any questions? This should be a given.

Surgical procedures - if you are prone to multiple children you cannot support, baby mamas/daddies, consider a tubaligation or vasectomy.  Fellas, despite popular belief, your sex drive & your ability to perform will not be effected!  Snippity snip, dawg!

The Rhythm Method - might've worked for June Cleaver, but I don't know about these days.

Withdrawal - Yeah right...just ask my baby daddy.

  1. I have practiced abstinence, but mostly used a combination of the pill and condoms. Since my tubal ligation, just condoms.

  2. Yes the IUD is still out and in different forms. My best friend used one for years.

I'm using condoms right now because I don't have a steady partner. But when I'm in a steady relationship I may go IUD route if I can. Pills affect me too much. I need to try the female condom though.

  3. I have used a combination. Abstinence, condoms (although I am allergic to nonoxynol 9), the pill, withdrawal, film....nearly everything. Funny thing is, I conceived my child while taking the pill religiously. No doctor has been able to explain that one yet. My OB/GYN just looked at me crazy, like I was lying. lol So, now although I do have a prescription for the pill, I'll use condoms when my celibacy time is up, just to be on the safer side.

  5. I had one friend in high school that the pill made her more fertile! Her body reacted the complete opposite of what it should and 2 kids later she figured it out.

  6. I clicked prayer honey! I know I'm dumb ass hell for taking that route, but it's worked, for the most part...tee hee....I know my cycle and yes, I know it's not foolproof by any means.

In the past I've taken the pill, but it upset my tummy, the shot made my period weird and I spotted too much, and the patch fell off my butt. It's really not made for the plus size girls anyhow. We've done the pull out method. So for now, I'm on nothing. I don't want no more kids so I will have to look at more permanent options SOON!

  7. My mama had one for years. I didn't know they still used them.

  8. Yep for a while there was question about one type of IUD, but now there is one that is for older women who still want to conceive. My girlfriend used one after she had her daughter, but knew she wanted to get pregnant again eventually.

  9. I am on the pill right now (Ortho Tri cyclen Lo) and it is making me nauseated so I will be most likely changing to a different pill.
I have also taken the Depo Shot before.

The withdrawl method is the reason I have two sons so for me that one never worked. lol

  10. Try taking your pills at night and not on an empty stomach. When I was on Ortho Tricyclen they made me sick too and that seemed to help.

  11. I will try that, because right now I take them in the moring and I feel nauseated afterwards

  12. I didn't use anything until AFTER I had my son. Assbackwards, I know. Young & foolish.

When I started the pill, I was nauseous for 30+ days straight. I just dealt with it (didn't think to try another kind of pill) because anything was better than getting pregnant again.

  13. It's the reason I have my daughter also lol

  14. That is what I was taking when I conceived. I took it every night around 10. The regular spacing and taking it at night seemed to help with the bad after effects. Although it still didn't work. lol

  15. i just don't have sex. Found it's better for me just to wait until I get married and it's pretty much worked for the most part. Although I am tempted so many times my goodness have i been tempted. Yall pray for me.

  16. *praying that amoureinfinity don't give in and waits for that special man who will do the right thing, marry her, and on her wedding night she has a love making session that will have her seeing fireworks and thangs amen*

  17. withdrawl. Which is how I ended up preggo. Damn husband lost his mind for a split second and forgot the "standard operating procedure". I was previously on The Pill until I had my foot surgery, but my doc took me off of it when I was prescribed all of those narcotic pain killers. Damn docters *eyeroll*

  18. I'm cracking up @ all of us with the these "oops" babies...bless their little hearts. Hell most of us were probably "oops" babies too.

He makes no mistakes, so we'll just call them surprises. :o)

  19. I handled that 30 days after my 30th birthday. The docs are very reluctant if you are under 30 & have one child. I was begging & pleading since I was 22, but they all said no. I have no regrets.

  20. LOL...that's a nice way to put it!! All my chirren were unplanned but I love their wittle big heads anyway :)

  21. I really don't know any planned children. LOL

  23. The withdrawal method worked for me for 6 years. One day we decided to have another kid, no withdrawal, and BAM, I was preggo. Then after giving birth, ole boy got that thing snipped.

I only take pills to regulate my cycle. My memory is so bad I end up taking 2 at a time most of the time.

    Condoms are a must.

  24. Condoms always and that was my only method until my 30's when I decided to try something new. I felt MISERABLE on the shot! I dislike taking pills everyday so the pill has never been an option for me. Right now I'm on the nuva ring which is ok.
