This is another one for Starrdustt. Her MiniMe (fetus) is a little less than 7 lbs and Mama thinks she's a little porky already.
My mother was diagnosed diabetic after having me. Diabetic women tend to have larger babies. I was 9 lbs & 1.5 oz. My middle sister was 9 lbs & 10.5 oz. My baby sister was 11 lbs & 1 oz! My mother was induced several weeks early with her because she was still growing. My grandmother was convinced that she was carrying more than one baby.
My son was 8 lbs. & 6 oz. My mother was in the delivery room with me & when they said his weight, she yelled, "Ha Mercy! We don't do tiny babies." The doc & the nurses got a kick out of that one. I delivered without the aid of drugs. I'm a soldier dammit, but the boy will remain an only child...on his mama's side!
My sister's 3 boys were all over 8 lbs & the twins were a little over 5 lbs each - which is great for twins.
I also need to add that all of the aforementioned deliveries were vaginal. No C-Sections for this clan!
Now, how much did your baby(ies) weigh & how were they delivered?
Fellas, even tho you ain't birthed ahn baby, feel free to tell us about your offspring.
My oldest was 8lbs. 6oz. - vaginal w/forceps (he wasn't tryna come out)
ReplyDeleteMy youngest was 9lbs. 1oz. - c-section (he wasn't tryna come out either)
You had no drugs?
ReplyDelete*bows down to mo*
I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy!!!!!
LOL
I was a small baby... 6lb 10oz. - vaginal.
ReplyDeleteAlex was 7lb. 10oz and she was a c-section... she wasn't e'en TRYIN to come out
Why do I have this image of him holding up his hands in the birth canal right at the opening, and him going "No, I don't wanna come out, the world is crazy!!!!!! The world is crazy!!!! I like it in here it's safe, and cozy. "
ReplyDeleteThanks T!! Would I do it again? Not naw, hell naw! LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't know what the heck he was doing, but I have that same fight with him EVERY SINGLE MORNING waking him up!
ReplyDeleteI know that's right!!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL that was signs of things to come!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThere's something to be said about that. My baby was lazy from day 1. I've never had to fight with him to take a nap or go to bed.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was a preemie (only 4 1/2 weeka though) and she was 5 lbs 11 oz. She was so tiny I could hold her in one hand. She caught up REAL quick though lol. My son was 7 lbs 9 oz
ReplyDeleteIm hoping that whoever decides to be my surrogate mother doesnt have to endure such a huge baby... Goodness.... I dont know why Im so terrified of child birth... But I sat in the delivery room when Miya (the Bald head baby) was born and it was kinda cool... (I think).. but she didnt wanna come out... so they had to use those tongs or whatever you call it.. and that was the weirdest shit I had ever seen... head came out all pointy... thank God, its molded right now...
ReplyDeleteBut if any of yall ladies is interested in being my surrogate and carry little Paco or Maria for me... I would appreciate it... Im willing to pay $500 cash money... Plus a few more incentives... but just let me know... lol
Red did NOT just say tongs. LMAO I swear, if I thought I could carry someones baby and then give it back, I'd be your surrogate just for the laugh factor.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was 7 pounds even, C-section, because the day before my blood pressure shot up and I was seeing stars, plus the doctor swore she was close to 11 pounds. Yeah, he was a bit off.
My son was 6 lbs 14 oz. C-section again, cause honestly, I was miserable, toting around a 12 month old and 9 months pregnant, he had not even dropped yet. So the doctor went ahead and got it done. I regret that now.
Forceps! Although I have to laugh, I call them salad tongs too and tease my son because ironically he's a salad eatin' something!
ReplyDeleteTongs? Were they removing a baby or trying to serve a salad? ROFL!!!
ReplyDeleteForceps!!!!
*Red cracks me up so much!!!*
Blessed why do you regret that?
ReplyDeletelmaooo... thats what they look like... I bet when the folks at the hospital have pot lucks and somebody forgot to bring a big salad spoon and fork... they go and get one of those things...(sterile of course) and use that to serve the salad... I bet they do...;p;
ReplyDeleteHush it woman... lmao
ReplyDeleteYou so special....*smh*
ReplyDeleteThat's putting it lightly!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter weighed 6lbs, by c-section, My oldest son weighted in at 7lbs 05oz, vaginal and my BABY boy weighted 7lbs 11oz by vaginal...I had him ALL by myself! All natual....the baby was the easiest!
ReplyDeleteMy mother had a theory that the larger babies helped themselves out of the canal moreso than the smaller ones.
ReplyDeleteI have to give it to you ladies who have your babies naturally!!! Whew!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWithout being to graphic so I dont scare the pants off of Starrdust, The incision was not done right, got infected and I spent two additional weeks in the hospital, where I had to fight to keep Mekai with me so I could breast feed, cause once he was born and then we were discharged and readmitted, the baby is considered a "dirty" baby, and not supposed to stay in the hospital with me.
ReplyDeleteThen I had a visiting nurse for 3 months 2 times a day and was hooked up to this machine to heal my wound.
Yeah, with a newborn and a 13 month old.
It sucked BIG TIME
*wooooosahhhh* (will revisit this from my pc in a lil bit) FiGi is a juicy lil porker...she's in the 80th percentile -meaning 80% of babies her gestational age are SMALLER than her *lol* so with a month left to go...she will be about 9lbs if she stays in until her due date...
ReplyDeleteyall got some serious baby stories up in here, huh?
I was 7 lbs 14 oz. at birth. My mom was a study patient at the University of Chicago when she was pregnant with me. She had a "perfect" diet and the right amount of excercise... I was a healthy baby
ReplyDeleteMy son was 5 pounds 8oz at birth...21 inches long. He was a really peculiar looking thig...LOL He had big feet and hands. he never wore size 0 booties. He wore a size 1 at birth. I had him vaginally, but i had an epidural... it was the BEST!! lol
My son is now 12 years old and weighs 170 pounds. He's taller than me (he's 5'4"--I'm 5'2"). He wears a size 10 men's shoe... He's a HUGE young man!! LOL
TONGS... FORCEPS...
ReplyDeleteLOOKS PRETTY SIMILAR TO ME...
Ohhhhhhh I'm so sorry that happened to you!!! Yikes!!!
ReplyDeleteROFL!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI changed my mind, I am not birthing your babies, I am afraid of what you may mix up with them. LOL
ReplyDeleteI know this if we ever have a Multiply pot luck I'm NEVER eating anything with Red's ummmm Tongs!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteMy 10 year old wears the same! *sigh* Shoes cost too dang much!
ReplyDeleteWow! My doctor was WONDERFUL!!! After my vaginal birth, I slept for almost 24 hours and stayed in bed most of the time with that episiotomy. After my c-section, I was up and walking around the hospital within a day. I felt great!
ReplyDeleteNo need to worry bout that.. cuz Red dont cook... I burn, I put on the stove and forget and I microwave alot... but my people say microwaving aint cooking... hell, its gets it from frozen to steaming in 2 minutes... now thats some serious cooking... lol
ReplyDeleteThanks ... gurl ... I didn't have a choice with my baby boy. I went into labor around 12:50pm ... arrived at the hospital at 2:10pm and he was born at 2:19pm in the hallway. I was on my way to the labor room ... but we didn't make it!
ReplyDeleteDe'Anna- My son was so far up, literally with his back curled against the top of my uterus, that the only way he could get to him was to make a vertical incision, which, with all the moving around i was doing with my daughter, son, breast feeding, etc., just kept opening cause of the how he did it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it sucked.
How much you think this joker weighed at birth... Hell naw I aint having no babies... Hell, I might not have sex again, if this could happen to me... sheeeeesh
ReplyDeleteRed, if your baby comes out looking like him, you are gonna have alot more questions to answer besides why is he so damn big...
ReplyDeleteseriously though, that is craziness, unless it is somesort of genetic thing that makes that baby so big, thats child abuse in my world.
And I know this gone selfish and to some idiotic... but its been a thing I've been thinking about for years... But I've always hated hated having such big boobs, and how I used to get teased by the boys and how I couldnt be as active as others, and how the neck and back pains used to be so bad... with all that said, only after being in this world for over 30 years, Im just now starting to feel comfortable.. but i used to dread the idea of having a girl and her having to go through all that... Now I know the common sense thing is to know that, every person doesnt necessarily match those of the proceeding and all that.. but I got a few crazy hangups that comes with having a kid..
ReplyDeleteHe look like the Michelin Mascot.
ReplyDeleteSame as R.J.
ReplyDeleteyall do know yall scarin me shitless, right? *lol* with each contraction...i get more nervous...all my superwoman "imma do this natural" has fallen by the wayside.
ReplyDeleteyesterday, they decided that the bedrest shld help my BP stabilize so no talk of induction just yet...they do want to monitor me 3x week...if figi gets too big, they will get her out early...but to me 5lbs or 10lbs is all gon feel the same *faints*
Damn....that really sucked for you! Glad you are here to share your story.
ReplyDeleteThey are really close in age....the major reason I abstained for 1 year after giving birth.
The majority of the time it happens that way, lol. I was all gung ho about having my baby with no drugs, but was asking constantly, can I get another shot of that stuff in my IV?
ReplyDeleteWhen I finally decided I wanted drugs it was too damn late.
ReplyDeleteYes they are close... which brings me to my next tip for starrdust...
ReplyDeleteThe birth control pill that they put you on when you are breastfeeding is bull ! ! ! Wrap it up too. LOL... It is such a low dosage that if you take it in the morning one day and not till night the next, it gives you gaps with no protection... If your man comes at you... run, girl, run ! ! !
Oh my God,okay everyone,we have to stop... I dont want her shaking in her booties the next few weeks.
ReplyDeleteHere is a good story, I wish I could post the video... babies can instinctively smell their mothers milk. When Maia was born, she was laying on my chest and literally started doing this worm like movement to get to (sorry guys) my nipple. It was AMAZING !
And about a month ago, Mekai came out of his room, got up in my lap, and starting singing You are so Beautiful, but instead of singing "to me" he was singing "Mo- meeeeee" It was one of the great moments of my life.
I couldnt even tell you anything about my hospital stay, but the dim recollection that it was not fun... but I can tell you that in the few years since, I have a million memories to cancel it out. I promise you, giving birth, you can do it, and it is only 1 day of a million you will have with FiGi.
I didn't breastfeed, but I was so scared of getting knocked up again, I was taking my pills faithfully even tho I wasn't sexually active.
ReplyDeleteWhen I went for my 6 week check up, another teenager who delivered the same time I did, came out in tears. I asked the nurse why was she crying & she told me (before HIPAA got strict of course) that she was pregnant again. My ass was on lock down from that moment forward!
I think my ass has been seriously blessed or lucky, cuz I think in my lifetime I've taken bc pills for about a month, thats it... I just kept forgetting to take them...
ReplyDeleteMan,, thats crazy...
ReplyDeleteIt's our responsibility to share the truths, not just the fluff, with her & any other 1st time preggo who comes across what we say.
ReplyDeleteIts crazy, cause when I got pregnant with him, I was not exactly thrilled (sorry little boy, mama loves you :)) but now, looking back, had I waited a year or two, he would never had come and Maia would have been an only child
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, you have been talking about it, and marriage, and Tim.. and now you just taunted the big man upstairs... Your gonna be delivering in mid 2009
ReplyDeletewhen I went into preterm labor I was tryna get them to give me some pain meds. they just laughed at me...b/c they were mild contractions due to the doozies that really get the cervix open. I'm such a punk...all they agreed to were some sleeping pills along with the meds to stop my labor.
ReplyDeleteI will tell yall...FiGi likes to fight. almost like she is intentionally tryna to fight her way out...i could feel her tryna bang her head against my cervix during everything...and she does that now. like when a contraction comes, she starts swinging. *lol* is that normal? b/c I tell you....they can just give me a damn spinal tap as soon as I arrive at the hospital...*sigh*
NEVER AGAIN.
LOLLLLLLLLL
ReplyDeleteMy mother once told me I should have at least one more. She thought no child should be an only child. I told her if I found a husband before the boy went to KG, I would, if my husband wanted a child. Needless to say that didn't happen & I've closed up shop.
ReplyDeleteNot me, Mo... if a husband comes along and wants a couple of youngin, I am ready to go ! LOL
ReplyDeleteGod love you! I'll take all the cyber nieces & nephews y'all bring me. :o)
ReplyDeleteshut it up... with all that craziness.... and he just went from Tim back to The Dude... freaking men... sheeeeeesh
ReplyDeleteMo, if your mandingo-Imma take care of you and yours-rock yo world upside down-man shows up... you just might be popping out a little Nicky and Ricky... lol
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger I had convinced myself I was sterile because I made some OBVIOUS lapses in judgement on a few occasions but I nothing happened. I guess we all know how that worked out LOL
ReplyDeleteBWAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!! Red, you just don't know her like I do! It ain't happenin!
ReplyDeleteLOL... Well you got little ones now... Maybe it was a miracle...
ReplyDeletepoof, sterile be gone... lol
She might delete me if I keep talking shit... but Mo knows I lub her... lol
ReplyDeleteRed listen to Deedles. She's a wise woman who knows of what she speaks! HAHA
ReplyDeleteEveryone, at 3:15, lets all together send up a prayer of fertility for Red.
ReplyDelete**snickering**
I just might delete yo ass for all this foolish talk you jabbering... lol
ReplyDeleteVirginia is not in the business of producing things... Taking in, Maybe... but not pushing out... Nope..

ReplyDeleteOK y'all we need to stay on topic...for the baby! :o)
ReplyDeleteIm sorry Mo... you know it dont take but one word.. and Im venturing off into left field..lol
ReplyDelete*hugs* You so special.
ReplyDeleteOk, Special could be deemed in two very different ways... And I need you to clarify for me...
ReplyDeleteSpecial, like riding the short bus...
or Special, like as in an Angel...
I think you meant the angel part,,, Right? lol
Dang I love graphics and pics... see, if you didnt block the home page,,, i wouldnt do so many over here... lol
ReplyDeleteBut back to the baby business... lol
Dont shoot me Mo. lol
My sweet pea was 7' 11" delivered pain and stress free during a planned C Section with general anesthesia on Martin Luther King's birthday. I say it was pretty smooth sailing. Can't even hardly see my scar. I bet if I had another kid, birth would be torture. Just because the first was so easy.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was born I was a preemie. I weighed a little over 4 lbs. Don't know exact weight. That was preemie status back then. My son weighed 8lbs 12oz at birth. He really ripped me up too. I don't think my new baby will weigh that much. I'll see.
ReplyDeleteI can definately relate to that, Red. I am really surprised that I have not had a child by now. And I admit, a little worried...
ReplyDeleteOooh! We have another baby on the way? When are you due?
ReplyDeleteMy son decided he didn't want to walk until he was 13 months....I can only imagine lugging him and a newborn. God love you K!
ReplyDeleteI bet! LOL He was kinda long to be so small. I think my boy was 21 or 22 inches also.
ReplyDeleteIn August Shan :)
ReplyDelete*Gasp* I am so excited for you! I am praying for you! Please keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!! Do you know if you are having a boy or girl???

ReplyDelete**GASP** A baby girl! Oh my gosh!! I am so excited for you! We must pink her out!! Have you thought of a name yet? (Shanna is pretty ..)
ReplyDeleteI always wanted a Tamara so that will be her name. Oh yes she's going to be pretty in pink and I will send pics to all her soulful aunties.
ReplyDeleteOk, you can name her Tamara Shanna :D
ReplyDeleteLOL I'll think about it sis!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter weighed 7 lbs even...vaginal delivery with vacuum.
ReplyDelete
