She Has Lupus...
Although, not widely recognized like breast cancer, October is also Lupus Awareness Month. Unlike breast cancer, this affliction hits home.
The woman you see in the wedding gown has been one of my best friends since high school. Shortly after her wedding in 2006, she was diagnosed with Lupus.
When she told me, she was in tears & I was certainly taken aback. I had no clue of what to say. I had heard of Lupus but really had no idea what it was. She explained what she had gone thru & all I could do was cry.
I'm happy to report my friend is doing well & enjoying her life. She has a great husband who knows what those vows meant.
I pray for my friend's healing & I know, with God, all things are possible.
She will be celebrating her 38th birthday in a few weeks & God willing, I'll be right there celebrating with her.

The Party's Ova!
I had an awesome time in VA/DC!
After knowing my twin, Kim (BlkBttrfly), for 5+ years, I finally got a chance to hug her!!! I almost put her eye out with my elbow (short joke), but I love her anyway!
I've known Deedles for a minute so that was nothing new. I also met Gigi (redeyewire), Silkee (thanks for everything!), Mysteeque, Prodigal, 2 of the Uncles - O & Q (P & R were missing...lol), STO, Feyonce, Boosie & Pineapple (feels like I'm forgetting someone). I also met quite a few others as well.
I didn't get a chance to met Nae, Figi or her mama, Diggs, T, Suga (insert sad face) & again I know I'm missing someone, but that gives me all the more reason to make another East Coast excursion!
...just like The Terminator, "I'll be back!"
Love y'all!
PS Thanks to an "awesome" photographer, I was able to jack some cruise pics & they are in the photo albums.

My Circle of Friends
I have some of the most informative, entertaining & amusing Plyville connections in the world! Of the 72 connections, I know 12 {it was 30+ on 360} of them personally & will become acquainted with several more by months end.
Some are real friends & some are just cyber buddies. Some I met in Plyville, some were 360 connections & the rest I go way back to Yahoo groups with.
They make me laugh & some have even made me cry. Some are totally shocking with their revelations & some are very easy to read. Some never say a word, but they keep coming back for more of the madness that is moi.
Some I share common experiences & tragedies with, some I know nothing at all. Some are real & raw and some just go with the flow. Some I've shared some deep, dark secrets with & some have done the same. Some are true to others & themselves and some are phony & fulla ish! Nah, I’m just kidding with that one….or am I?
Some will give me the opportunity to actually “meet” a friend when I travel & some will have a friend when they come to my stomping ground.
All in all, I’m happy with my circle of Multiply friends! If you invited me to your circle, I thank you. If I invited you, feel privileged! Now, I really am kidding with that one.
Have a wonderful day!
PS The door is always open to real people.

FRIEND APPRECIATION DAY *as deemed by Don1228*
Deedles (and I gave her that nic in case you didn't know) dedicated a blog to me so I'm gonna pay it forward. Love ya girl!
Do you have an online friend who you feel deserves special recognition? I want to suggest that we all find a Friend, and not a spouse or current lover, to showcase in our blogs since there doesn't appear to be a Testimonial feature on Multiply. In this way, we all get a chance to "meet" your friend or get to know them better--from your perspective.

Introducing "Big Sista Twinkle Toes" aka Suga
I "met" her in an on-line group & right away knew she was one of the few people on-line who remained true to themselves, i.e., the same person on & off-line.
My sis, G, hails from Atlanta by way of Philly. She's a very creative & thoughtful person, who took a leap of faith a few years back & it's working out in her favor.
Like most, she's gone thru more than her share of trials and tribulations. Thru it all, she still manages to shine.
Via the group, 360 & the occasional chat session, we learned we had quite a few things in common, one being loved, raised & cared for by women named Dorothy Mae (her mother's name & my grandmother's name).
Here we are last summer when I went to ATL. We had a ball!
I won't bore you with a bunch of text, I'll just say roll over to her spot & check her out for yourself!
G, this one is for you! Love ya girl!

A White Folks Wedding
Yesterday, I attended my 1st white folks wedding. One of my best work friends got married & I was there to witness.
The bride & groom are both 47 years old. She was absolutely radiant. He was looking pretty dapper himself. Neither one has children. This is hubby #3 for her & wifey #2 for him.
It was a garden ceremony & despite the less than favorable temp (about 55 degrees) & my 3.5 inch heels sinking into the ground (it rained the night before), it was a lovely event.
Once the booze started flowing, it was on! I get a kick outta watching white folks getting their drink on then trying to dance....hilarious!
My faith in finding & marrying my one true love has once again been restored. Ya'll know I tend to lose it every so often.
Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Key!
PS When (notice how I've gone from if to when?) I do marry, I'll give you all plenty of notice to save your nickels & dimes for my destination wedding!

Top Ten Thurs. - Cyber Friends I'd Like to Meet
I've already met quite a few cyber friends & some I keep regular contact with (check the photos for Sunshine, Deedles, Play, San & 'nem).
Here are the top ten cyber friends I'd like to meet & the reason why:
- Blkbttrfly - This is my twin and I've never met her. We clicked when our paths crossed & have been like family every since. She's a Taurus (extra points) and a single mom holding it down, and she likes to sip on lil something er' now then. We have those things in "Common" (inside joke) and I haven't even scratched the surface.
- Shancole - She sounds like a 5 year old and sometimes makes my skin crawl, but I love her like the lil sister I never wanted.
- Divam1107 - This is my lil sis. We connected a long time ago in a Yahoo group & have always stayed in touch. This child made a move that not many would've dared & I so admire her for that.
- Bhinddagroove - I've know T for several years. She's one of the most thoughtful people I've ever met on-line & there's a chance I might be related to her son.
- Texasshoney - We have so much in common it's kinda scary - we love old school music, traveling, The Muppets & are recovering pyromaniacs! How's that for things in common?
- Silkee - One of the realest, rawest chics I've encountered in while. Plus, she agreed to teach me a few things about sewing. (Muda is smiling down on her as we speak.)
- Magic/Mister/Doctor Mike - I'd pay good money to see him twirl & faint just once!
- Ncognegra - The little I know about Kels tells me we'd get along just fine and I can show this woman how to care for that hair & cook a meal (and I ain't all that great myself!).
- TNPATL - We could kick back & have a reality TV marathoning good time!
- Udigginme - Man stealing wench! I just really wanna size up the competition up close! Diggs, the new hair color is cute, but I still don't trust ya!
- Redeyewire - Lawd this chile...I don't even know what to say. Oh yeah, give me one weekend with her & she'll be strutting 3 inch heels & a mini skirt like a 1st time hooker!
- Nae905 - We haven't been connected long but this chic keeps me laughing & I know she'd do the same personally.
- BigdaddyT - my play cousin for real. Period.
- Starrdustt - She's about give birth to a little girl who'll be Taurean (keeping my fingers crossed for May 3) and when she's cutting up Mama will call her Lil Mo'. Gotta love it!
OK so that's more than 10 but you know where I'm coming from. To those in my circle, I failed to mention, charge it my head & not my heart.
Luv all y'all!

When Best Friends Forever Fall Out - Part I
I have 2 best friends - Nita & Linda - and 1 honorable mention - Lashon.
I've known Nita all my life. We grew up across the street from each other. Our uncles were running buddies before we were born.
Ironically, I met Linda thru Nita. Linda is the paternal aunt to Nita's 2 older children. I met her almost 2 decades ago. I'm actually closer to Linda. We have more in common.
As life would have it, my friendships with them both hit a rough spot & took a while to recover. Allow me to share & you should feel free to comment.
Let me preface this portion of the story by stating I've done some dirt in my time, so I'm not judging & this particular incident was about 14 years ago (before my dirt went down).
When Nita's kids were 5, 3 and almost 2, she was seeing a married man, regularly. I was totally against the whole situation, but I was more against her allowing her children to actually get to know this man. I felt and still feel like if you choose to be an adulterer, no one should know but the two parties involved. Not your kids, not your family, not your friends, well maybe your BFF for safety reasons, but no one else.
It was understood that we'd always have each others back, but knowing my friends the way I do, I made it clear that if some bullshit ever went down about their relationship with somebody else's husband, I am not & will not be involved. Period.
Nita & her kids were in the grocery store & she spotted him. She noticed he was with a woman who was later determined to be his wife. They played it off & she went in the opposite direction. As luck would have it, her daughter saw him & ran over to him. Of course the wife wanted to know who this child belonged to & how she knew her husband.
The wife (and her sister or cousin) approached Nita and asked how she knew her husband. Some words were exchanged, but didn't get violent.
When Nita called me & filled me in, my reply was, "Why are you telling me? I knew this was bound to happen." She said,"That bitch & her sister/cousin act like they wanted to jump me & I don't think it's over!" I replied, "Well dawg, that's an ass whuppin' you will take alone. I'm not fighting any woman over any man, let alone her damn husband!" She hung up on me.
I later found out she called several mutual friends about our falling out and the vote was split 50/50. Half said I wasn't really her friend & should've had her back no matter what. The other half said I gave her fair warning so she shouldn't have been surprised. One went on to say, "No, she wouldn't have been your friend if she told you she had your back and then let you get yo ass kicked." As far as I was concerned, this chic was on the money!!
We didn't speak for 6 months. I did call on her daughter's birthday & left a message for the kid. She called me back & let me talk to her. The kid was whining that she missed me & wanted to come to my house. I told her I would come pick her up if her mama said it was ok. She did.
I went to pick her up & we picked up also. Neither ever bringing up the day we fell out.
Did I say she continued seeing this dude? Well she did, but I never said nary a word about him & neither did she.
We are still friends to this day & probably will be for the rest our lives.

Mo, Sunshine & 'Nem
I met a few friends last night for a few drinks & a lil dancing. Most of you might recognize Sunshine (far left). It was good to see everyone, since it might be the last time we hang out before the St. Louis winter hits. More pics coming soon.
Toodles!
