Let's talk about shoes!
In the previous blog about appearances we started talking about shoes & ladies we know shoes deserve a blog of their own.
Me & Kel were taking about Crocs & she basically thinks they are the devil. LOL!! I own a cheap pair from Payless & I only wear them in the house and to work in my yard.
Like most women, I probably have way too many pairs of shoes to count but I do have a few favorite pair that get more wear than the rest. I also have several pairs of black, strappy ones that I adore, along with some 4-inch ho' shoes. They're stilletos so until I drop a few pounds I won't be wearing them outside of the house. I don't wanna bust my ass in public trying to be cute. I do have a few pair of 4 inch stack-heel boots that I don't have issue with.
I'd love to own some Jimmy Choo's, Prada or even Robert Clergerie's (the kicks shown run about $600 & I'm accepting donations towards the purchase price...for my birthday) but they are not in my budget at the moment.
A few of my favorite (in my budget ) designers are Nine West, Kenneth Cole, Steve Madden, BCBG, Marc Fisher, Kelly & Kate, J. Renee, Enzo Angolino & Bandolino...just to name a few.
I give y'all shoe whores credit. I own fewer than 20 pairs of shoes and at least three pair of those are slippers. I can't even do it. I like Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik but I'd need a sugar daddy with a serious jones for Silk (heehee) to make that happen...
ReplyDeleteWhen you find him, ask if he has a brother, son, uncle and/or nephew for me!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh one of my fave subjects. I love shoes however with my big old boats (12M) I have to search high & low for good quality shoes and usually I have to pay much much more. I too adore the designers you listed above but a lot of them stop at 11's. In addition, I like these who cater to larger foot sizes: Stuart Weitzman, J. Renee, A. Marinelli, Costa Blanca, Moda, Pelle Moda and Pazzo, Donald J. Pliner, Amanda & Aerosoles.
ReplyDeleteYou have impeccable taste...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE shoes but my bad ankle as kept me from cute ones lately. I want a pair of Louboutin's SOOOOOO badly. I'd have to spend a whole pay check on a pair though. LOL Can I just paint the bottom of a cheaper pair red???
ReplyDeleteBeing that I'm "ghetto bourgeois"- MY meaning being that I know how to shop to where I LOOK like I've spent alot of money when I really spent alot less- I don't really have a favorite shoe "designer". HOWEVER- I AM a STILETTO BOOT FANATIC!!! When it comes to shoes, if it's cute, in my size (6-6 1/2) and in my PRICE, then I'm getting it!
ReplyDeleteI've recently started wearing more flats though- because my Mommy said I may be hurting my legs by wearing heels all the time (and then a doctor co-signed my Mommy's thoughts).
*I HATE when she's right!!!!!!* LOL
My mama had big feet too, but she wasn't into heels. Most times she had on mocassins or flip flops. She never wore tennis, claiming she couldn't stand for her feet to be cooped up like that. LOL
ReplyDeleteWow, a blog after my own heart. When I get home I'm going to post pics of my shoes. Yes, I've taken pictures of my shoewear. LOL. It's a sad addiction, but I've always been a shoe girl since I got my first pair of platforms. For me, being 5 foot 2 I have to have heels that make up for my vertical impairment...LOL
ReplyDeleteLately, I've fallen hard for shoes by Rampage, Guess, and Tahari. I've been on the lookout for those shoes Salt is wearing in the opening of Salt N Pepa's show. They are made by Guess (I think) and are patent leather Mary Jane platforms with a peep toe. I saw them in Marshalls in the Mega Shoe department and they didn't have my size (10)!!! Let me know if one of you ladies find them in your area. We may have to work out an agreement.
I hate when I find the cutest shoe and it's only in YOUR size!! LOL
ReplyDeleteOooooo Kel! I have the cutest brown patent Tahari pumps! Can't wait for this yucky weather to be over so I can rock them.

**Walks up to the podem...taps mic** "Hi, my names is Diggs LeVert Elba and I too am a shoe whore.
I have a pair of Crocs and I just wonder why I didn't invent them first. I love mine. They are the best thing since pop up lids on cans.
I am a fan of Steve Madden and Kenneth Cole also. I do have a pair of BANGIN' blue Calvin Klein stillettoes. I trip if I wear flat shoes....literally.
OMG!!!! Crocs are the devil, especially the ones that have all the colors of the rainbow. My sister got a pair of those and I was playing hide n' seek with them all summer. Buy a cute sandal, its just as comfy and looks much better. Its especially a trip when you see men wearing them, its just not decent *lol*
ReplyDeleteAnother shoe (or whatever) that I can't stand are those darn ugs, especially the ones that have the little dangly pom-poms hanging off ... WTH?!!! People walking around in them looking like eskimos on crack.
My favorite shoe store is Baker's but in second is Nine West. I have also gotten some mega nice kicks at Shoe City .. they do sell lady shoes. But I think that the ultimate is DSW shoe warehouse. I love a t-strap shoe more than anything because it has that classic 50's look that I love.
For a true sneaker lover who owns 10 pairs of timberlands, i'm a Foot Locker girl to the bone ... Converse, Marc Ecko, Addidas, Ralph Lauren, and so much more. I could do this all day.
Then there's always the occasional trip to payless, but I think that they may need to change their name soon to pay whatever. The last pair of shoes that I got there were over 30 bucks. It was like culture shock.
I plead the fifth about how many actual pairs that I own.
Sorry sista girl *walking away in my 6 1/2 FLAT BOOTS*
ReplyDeleteThat's the exact reason why I can't do the ballerina type flats. I have a high instep & I need a lil leverage.
ReplyDeleteHey!!! I resemble that remark, Stormy! LOL...I have Uggz but not with the pom poms, so I'm good though, right?
ReplyDeleteCrocs on men are very wrong...no man should be seen in them unless he's a doctor.
Mo - I told you yesterday flats make my feet hurt...I gotta have some support down there. Plus my feet are wide...flats looks bad on fat feeted girls...LOL
Uggs are the devil! LOL What I don't get are chics in booty shorts, a tank top & Uggz?! I'on get it. *scratching head*
ReplyDelete*LOL* @ ncognegra "Hey!!! I resemble that remark, Stormy! LOL...I have Uggz but not with the pom poms, so I'm good though, right?"
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say that you're good, but for where you live, its acceptable *l*. I'd probably be wearing them too if I lived in a place that has -0 degree weather. Ugg must be short for ugg-ly. *lol*
My Uggz may be the devil, but I shole is warm! LOL...I have never been so happy to receive a pair of them. My mom got me and my sister a pair for Christmas. At first I couldn't stand them boots for the same reasons you stated, Mo. You would see pictures of celebrities walking the streets in Hollywood with a flimsy little skirt and bra top and some Uggz...I'm like...ummmm something just don't add up! Well just so I'm doing them real justice, I make sure to rock mine with my full lenght shearling, a hat, scarf and some gloves.
ReplyDeleteI'm cracking up... @ ALL y'all... I'm easily the largest woman in the bunch (weight wise) .. but I have weird feet. I'm a 10N, but in sandals I have to wear a 9.5 cause there's NO fat on the top part of my foot. BUT when I buy men's sneakers (and I do most of the time cause even a Nike Women's 11 doesn't cut it but the 12s are too wide, if you can find them) I still have to get a 9.5
ReplyDeleteI tried on a pair of Payless crocs and I think I need to get a pair for when I'm at home and going to be on my feet for a while, cause nothing is right in the world when my dogs get to barking.
Shoe junkies...
ReplyDeleteI meet lots of woman with the same addiction...
and in New York City that fetish can be very very expensive..
My last girlfriend can talk about Uggz like a dude
can talk about a new car...and rationalized it's over price purchase..lol..just like us..
I'on get it either. They just look like footwear made for adolescent eskimos. I'm not feeling them AT ALL! Plus they're expensive as hell. If I'm spending that kinda money, they are gonna give me some leverage. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYes they are pricey but at least I didn't have to pay for mine...wooooo hooo! Chicago has eskimo like weather, especially this winter were we've been hit with more snow than what we know to do with. The other day the wind chill was -20. Them Uggz were IT that day for me!! LOL
ReplyDeleteDang... I may have to stay out of this convo... 97% of the shoes in my closet are gym shoes, boots a few pairs of casual (no heeled) shoes. I own ONE (1) pair of heels that I bought a few years ago. Wore them out to church and tripped up the stairs... lol After the embarrassment I suffered from that experience and my inability to walk in them in the first damn place, I rather just stay away from....
ReplyDeleteOr else get some really knowledgeable gay guy to help me, because my sisters just laugh... I know thats pretty sad... But if you ever choose to do a blog on Timb's or AF1's then Im there like white on rice...lol
(With devilish grin) show em dear!!!!
ReplyDeleteOH and Ms. Mo guess what?........
ReplyDeleteI can wear a size TWO in KIDS SIZES TOO!!!
**running away in my 'little people' Nike shoes**
I love shoes..I love heels (on other folk) I wear heels but it is not very often. I see so many pretty ones and then I think about how bad my feet will hurt so I don't buy them.
ReplyDeleteBut I have said for this summer Ima get my sexy on and wear more heels especially since there are so many cute ones out now.
I'm married... But, for those above... and a few others... I'll take some suggah' on the side myself... (LOL) j/k.
ReplyDeleteOohhhhhhhhh me too! I wear heels most of the time... From boots to sandals... they've even gotten better with the look of the high heeled thong sandals. (Two no-no's) Thongs & High Heels... I guess... I'm jacking my feet, knees and legs up for the future.
ReplyDelete" I'm your huckleberry ".Doc Holliday --Wyatt Earp
ReplyDeleteOoohhh and how much I've spent on (one pair). It's bad when you hide them in your trunk til' honey isn't home or goes to bed... Terrible I know.. I know. I don't have to hide them... But, when the tags are still on them... aaahhhmmm... There are times when I feel the need to. (LOL) Ohhh that's terrible I know.
ReplyDelete.
ReplyDeleteSo this is how people mess up keyboards drinking bevs. at the puta'
Whewwwwww... LMAO
@2Blk....what you do is tell your hubby to only buy you shoes for your b-day, christmas, etc. Hubby fully knows about my fetish so I don't have to hide them. He even came home with an early V-day gift this weekend of some pointy toe stilettos for me. He knows what's up! LOL Besides he can't say nuffin about my shoe addiction. He owns about 1000 dvds, so he BET-not have a thing to say about the shoes....
ReplyDeleteAfter a day like today has been... I could definitely use a lil something to drink... But, I'll be careful of the keyboard...lol
ReplyDeleteSt.Louis has some rough winters too, but I still got my trusty duck boots. Had 'em since the 8th grade! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you'll meet many more too! :o)
ReplyDeleteLil tiny foot heffa! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm 5'8 and sadly tower over a lot of black men in STL in my bare feet so I don't usually go higher than 4 inch heels. Be looking like Janet & JD....and that ain't cute without Janet & JD loot. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love shoes, and even being 5'11, I love heels. Back before MiniMe with well over 50 pairs of shoes, mostly from the NineWest store, I was a regular size 10, but now I am an 11W. It has taken me almost 5 years to get up to 20 pair because it is soooooo hard to find a shoe in my size. My current mission is to find wide shaft boots with a tall heel. It seems like they always make the wide shaft boots ugly with some equally unattractive heel! But yes, I lovessssssss me some shoes. Before, I wouldn't buy hardly any shoe unless it was NineWest, but now, I buy anything that fits. LMBOO
ReplyDeleteYa'll gots (yes gots) some big feets (yes feets). I luv y'all anyway!
ReplyDelete*me & my 8.5s shuffling off* LOL
Funny comments! I am NOT a shoe person at all and YEP, I'm all woman!
ReplyDeleteEven though I don't wear high heels, I can appreciate a nice pair when I see them. If you can sport'em, do yo' thang!
ReplyDeleteA gun for each of your 8.5s! LMBOO
7.5s here.....no big feet this way! =)
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteHere's my "shoe rack"...it's actually one of those towel/display racks for the bathroom. I guess the hubby got tired of tripping over my shoes all over the floor, so I came home one day and he had placed all my shoes on this thing. My favorite shoes are the four pairs on the top right...the red peep toes (nine west), the strappy ones next to them (Enzo Angiolini), the ones below (Tahari) and the bronze Baby Phat stilettos.
I have way more that I couldn't photograph and there are some in my closet and hanging on my door in shoe pouches...LOL. It's sick...I know!!
Keep it up and Imma get my deuces out for you too! LMBOOOO
ReplyDeletelmao .... Now I know who to come to for shoe advice.... Im one that HATES shopping... If I could just give someone my money and tell them what I needed and they went to get it, I would be more than happy... I dont know why, but I hate shopping for clothes, So you know shoe (dressy shoes) shopping is gone be hard for me... lol I think Im just too much of a tom-boy I guess...
ReplyDeleteI really need to get rid of some of mine. I have a shoe rack on the front & back side of my closet door (holds 20 pair each). My closet shelf is full of boxes AND my extra closet shelf is full of boxes. *smh*
ReplyDeleteYou like what you like... nothing wrong with that...
ReplyDeleteWhy did I just find the above shoe, in my size, on eBay for about 1/2 the cost?!?! I'm soooooo tempted.
ReplyDeleteI love a good shoe. I like heels to look at , but the most I can do is a 3 inch stacked heel. I don't have a favored brand; I usually go for what's on sale and feels right on my foot. I have a pair of fake silver crocs with little rhinestones across the top. I know, awful right? But they are SOOO comfortable. I wear them as house shoes and when I am running somewhere in them. I live in Birmingham, AL and we have some cold moments (like right now, its 25 degrees), but I really don't understand why I see people around here with the boots with the fur. That looks just dumb to me when its only 65 degrees outside. I love those shoes in the picture! Those are really cute. If i contribute, Imma have to get a chance to wear them too!
