Child Support Drama

One of my cybersistas is going thru it right now, so I figured I'd dig up my 360 post on the subject...just for S&Gs (Red, that's shits & giggles).

Blog I - December 2006

Since I think my little shopping sprees may have gotten outta hand, I figured I needed log on & pay some bills & possibly juggle some funds.

I log onto my banking website & pull up my checking account & see the following:

Electronic Deposit Fam Supp Pay Cen $15.59

10 years ago, I would've been fussing & cussing about that amount of alleged child support. Hell, my boy eats more than $15.00 worth of groceries a day.

Keep in mind I can't even remember the last time I received a child support payment, oh wait it was about 2 years ago & was for $23 & some change. However, I gave up that battle over a decade ago. As you can see it wasn't worth my time, energy or blood pressure. I figured I got myself into the situation, so I just need to do what's necessary to work it out...and with the help of Mama, Muda & Papa & by the Grace of God, I did.

To all of the dead beat moms & dads, Happy Freakin' Holidays!

Blog II - January 2007

The Deadbeat got a Job..... and health insurance!!!

Today, I received a letter from the Missouri Dept. of Social Service-Family Support Division. I haven't heard anything from the department since I got that whopping payment of $15.59!  I gave up the money battle with the donor over a decade ago. Sometimes, you just have to know when to say fuck it & move on.

Mind you, I barely communicate with the donor because I refuse to put up with anybody's bullshit, especially his.

Way back when, he was ordered to pay support & also ordered to maintain health insurance. Sometimes he did, sometimes he didn't. I didn't trip, I made sure my child stayed covered under my health plan.

The mail I received today, indicated that "Child is enrolled in NCP (non-custodial parent) medical insurance". Well I'll be damned!! He not only found gainful employment & didn't bother to tell me, he found employment with benefits! I just might take the chance & drop the boy from my plan. If I do, it will save me almost $200 a month in premium! Wow....

Oh, by the way, the boy was only covered for a few months & I had to pick him back up and am still covering him to this day.

  4. When my ex and I split, I was getting 165 a week steady for like a year. It helped ALOT. Once he realized that I was not coming back. He stopped paying. Then he has had to go back and forth to child support court, and got it reduced to 100 a week. Which he still doesnt pay. I got maybe 5 weeks of payments last year and this year a whopping 2. He can kick rocks and fall over and choke on one, as far as I am concerned.

  5. omg... have I got a child support story for yall...

ok babydaddy and I make a baby... and I tell him for the first yr that I will give him time to get his ducks in a row... (he'd gotten downsized aka fired...) and I knew money would be an issue ...little did I know that he took this to mean that he didnt have to do a damn thing... which he didnt...

baby turns 1 yr old... I file all necessary paperwork... and I get a call...from him... cussing me out bout putting the "white folks" in his business... and where was the sweet woman he knew and loved... I said she right here...handling her business... so dude moves in with his parents... all the way in Dallas TX... so it takes a little longer to find him...in the interim... I got the DNA test I knew he would ask for taken care of...so there would be absolutely no delays once they found him...but by then... it wasnt about the money anymore... good thing it wasnt!

By the time the baby is 2... I get a court order saying that said deadbeat is ordered to pay a whopping $120 per month... along with $25 on medical ... and $25 in back pay...funny thing is, I seldom get a check that is more than $30... smh... and the sperm donor has the nerve to be pissed that I dont send pictures or call him or bring him to visit when I visit my family near where he lives...

I just take my pennies... and keep it moving... we use that for ice cream!

    LOL

  6. I did the same thing, but like you, didn't get recognized for my effort in being understanding. I was living with my parents the first year after I left and told him, once I moved into my own place, I was going to need help. Well low and behold, I move and asked him for help and that FOOL told me that he had rent to pay too! LMBOOO Then when he came to get her for Xmas, (court ordered), he came in a new Expedition, meanwhile, I am on the bus. Dec.26, I went and filed on him and needless to say, he was NOT pleased. LOL

  9. ugh... what do they think we're supposed to do? just absolve them of all responsibility?
my ex also popped up with a brand new Taurus... and I'm not supposed to be pissed about it? I know its wrong but I am glad we dont have court ordered visitation... Dude aint interested ... and I would hate to have him in further violation of the court's orders... cuz I would make sure he went to jail ...lol
