Balconette Bras!!

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
I finally found a size that works for me!! Now mind you, I've been between a 48dd & ddd for the last decade or so. I'd had always seen Silkee & Starr rave about these durn bras, but the size seems to skip (just check tags on one). They don't make them in my alleged size.

A lil while ago when Starr announced the LB sale, I went back to the store....only to get my feelings hurt *lol* trying on a 44dd (the largest in stock). I gave up on the precious Balconette.

Today, I stopped again on my way home, just to try my luck. The store had 4 bras I was willing to brave. Two (2) 44Hs and two (2) 42Hs. All I gaged were the cups & they seemed big enough, so I bought all 4.

I got home, showered & tried them on. First the 44. It fit OK, but was in the tightest clasp (which is a no-no for a new bra) & the wire was stabbing me...the reason I only own softcups.

Next the 42....and baybee....if you didn't like me then, you gon' hate me now! . LOL I tried on a few of my sexy tops & well....I'mma keep that to myself. :P

I'm still trying to figure how I measure 48dd/ddd and this 42h is rocking!

Oh well, I'm sold!

Thanks Silk & Starr!

  3. Have you been properly fitted lately? You'd be shocked when you find out you were wearing the wrong size all along. I had thought I was a 44dd for the longest time. Went in to LB one day and the chic that fitted me told me to pull the bra I was wearing up to where I wanted support. And just like that, I'm a 42DDD.

    *shrugs*

I ended up buying a full coverage basic black Cacique bra. I will be checking for the Balconette on the next trip.

  4. The last few times I was measured, I was a 47 dd/ddd. Weird ass hell, right? 2 LB and one Macy's sales person came to the same conclusion, so I figured they were right.

I still don't know I went from DDD/E to H. What the sam hell happened to F & G??? *scratching head*

  6. I think that since some stores don't go beyond "D" they just add another D to compensate. Or on the other hand, those bra fitters must practice the new math or somethin'..LOL

    *scratching my dome too*

  12. The more I see these rave reviews the more I'm inclined to bite the bullet and go for it. Hopefully I can find them in my size as well. I need to get re-measured though cause last I knew I was a 42DDD but these babies seemed to have gotten bigger.

  13. After my experience, I say if they don't have your size, look for a cup that appears to fit. Still SMH at 42H......

  18. Didn't come in my size. Gigi took a chance & bought one. It was too small. No need for me to bother.

  19. Feeling a bit discouraged.... Drove around to TWO Lane Bryant stores (2 hours, and nearly a qtr tank of gas) and no bra in my size... What the crusty crab cake is going on... The third "said" they would have a new shipment in on saturday... uuggghh... I just bought a brand new PINK dressy shirt (inspired by my new wardrobe specialist) and it came in the mail today... So I was all up for having a new form fitting bra to accentuate all my positives... But no can do... So I'll save my new threads for when I can find my new barrel holder...

For the life of me, I can not understand why women wanna get this big or much bigger than they are... It aint no bed of roses, I tell ya...

  21. I've been sporting the 44ddd with a sports bra over it... which is irritating when its this hot out... Anyway, Monni was telling me about her new find.. So I was gonna see if I can find it and try it out... I think we're up there in the same size... give or take a lil... But its time to replace mine... and apparently after talking to my new wardrobe specialist, I've been taking care of my bras in all the wrong ways... I usually start them out on the last hook, cuz I like having a firm fit... and for my whites, I always wash them using bleach, cuz I love for my white bras to be extra clean, but apparently that breaks them down...

So, before I go to the specialty store and spend to much damn money, I'd like to try this out to see if it fits and works... Damn... I know I could answer a question with one word.. but its hard... lol

  23. The science of bras defies all description. I have one bra that's a 48DD softcup and it fits pretty well, most of my balconettes are 44 or 46DD/DDD. That 42H fits you because your back doesn't need a 48, but your breasts need the larger cups. *sigh*

I'd make a grip if I had the patience to make bras....
